On 22 October petMaxi was present as a sponsor of Insecta Talks a satellite event of ZOOTEC'25 held at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia in Lisbon.
Under the motto “where innovation and sustainability meet to discuss the role of insects in human and animal food — from the garage to commercialisation, through industry” Insecta Talks brought together researchers companies and experts from the agri-food sector to reflect on the future of the production and use of insects as an alternative source of protein.
petMaxi also had the honour of seeing its Food Quality and Safety Manager participate as a speaker in the session entitled ‘The future of insect production and use in Portugal’. Her contribution to an enriching debate on the prospects challenges and opportunities of using insects in animal feed reinforced the company's role in sharing technical and scientific knowledge.
The programme also included a tasting session which marked the celebration of World Edible Insect Day in a special way promoting awareness of more sustainable and circular food practices.
